Jack Daniels World Championship BBQ Challenge Coin Results

Updated: Mar 14

The Jack Daniel's World Championship BBQ, often referred to simply as the "Jack," is one of the most prestigious barbecue competitions in the world. It takes place annually in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the famous Jack Daniel's Distillery. This barbecue competition attracts teams from all over the globe, each vying for the title of Grand Champion. Teams compete in various categories such as pork ribs, pork shoulder, beef brisket, chicken, and more.

How do you get invited to Jack Daniel's BBQ competition?

To get invited to the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue, teams must first qualify by winning a Grand Championship at a barbecue contest that is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). These sanctioned contests are held throughout the year in various locations.

Once a team wins a Grand Championship at a qualifying event, they are eligible to receive an invitation to The Jack. However, receiving an invitation is not solely based on winning; the number of invitations available to each contest can vary based on factors such as the size and prestige of the event.

Additionally, there are special qualifying events called "Automatics" where winners receive direct invitations to The Jack without needing to win a Grand Championship at a regular sanctioned contest. These Automatics include previous year winners of The Jack, the American Royal Open and Invitational winners, and others.

In essence, to compete at The Jack, teams need to excel at other barbecue competitions sanctioned by KCBS and secure a Grand Championship or win at one of the Automatic qualifying events.

Winning the Jack Daniel's World Championship BBQ is considered a pinnacle achievement in the barbecue world and can greatly boost a team's reputation within the barbecue community. The event typically draws large crowds of spectators who come to enjoy the delicious food, live music, and festive atmosphere.
